Nordic walking is a century old endurance sport extremely popular in Scandinavia. It was originally used for the physical preparation for cross country skiing. Today, it is an all-weather activity in its right, open to all those who wish to maintain their fitness in tune with nature.
Technique:
This sport combines working the upper body by using sticks to walk at a rhythmic pace, faster or slower. It helps develop motor coordination, muscle development and cardio training (85% of muscles are employed). With warming up and professional supervision, it is also practiced by senior citizens to prevent osteoporosis.
